The new Ferrari car of 2024 Ferrari F8
2024 Ferrari F8💓💓
Starting at $330,000 est $220,000set
Consider the 2024 Ferrari F8 a relatively new model with a long and impressive pedigree. Reimagined from the core of the storied Ferrari 488, which itself evolved from the 458, the F8 blends the best bits from its family tree with updated hardware, styling and aerodynamics. Mounted amidshithe twin-turbo 710 horsepower 3.9-liter V-8 from the 488 Pista while nearly every other aspect has been refined to perform its duty to a higher standard. A thoroughbred from the start, it hasn't changed much since its 2020 arrival. Its mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout still delivers the tactile and ethereal sensations inherent to the layout, the V-8 pulling to redline with glorious abandon, while the steering zeroes in apexes with the precision of a fighter jet while carbon ceramic brakes are on call to arrest velocity via near-telegraphic pedal action. Sophisticated software sharpens up driver inputs to extract maximum visceral experience, even allowing for swift, smooth drifts. Since it's a Ferrari, buyers can spec it in just about any way they'd like but all 2024 models will be built as convertible Spiders; the Tributo coupe is now history.
Ferrari makes this easy. The F8 Spider is the only way to experience the magic now that the Tributo coupe is out of production. But there's no need to panic as the Spider drives just like the Tributo and comes in a single trim that's loaded with amenities. Plus, the Spider convertible's folding hardtop does a decent coupe impression with the added benefit of letting the occupants bask in the sun's rays whenever the mood strikes. Of course, no high-dollar supercar worth its salt leaves buyer desires unfulfilled, and Ferrari offers options that allow for a customized look, including an extensive selection of upholstery choices, exterior carbon-fiber components. Titanium exhaust pipes are also on offer, as are brake calipers in a host of different colors.
Engine, Transmission, and
Performance
At the core of this exotic beast is a twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V-8 producing 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. Despite the push for hybridization in the supercar arena, the F8 remains resolutely free of electric propulsion. Likewise, the seven-speed automatic transmission funnels power to the rear wheels in a traditional fashion, and the results are predictably breathtaking. The engine hits a pleasantly sonorous note as it pulls to its 8000-rpm redline, and while the brakes do an equally adept job when it's time to bring everything to a swift halt, the pedal requires a brief familiarization period to tune your senses. We've driven the previously available and virtually identical F8 Tributo on a racetrack in its native Italy and on roads on our shores and never come away anything less than invigorated. We've also wheeled the drop-top variant, which proved to be as quick and fun as it looks.
